snowboardsIf you decided that you want to buy a snowboard it’s already a very good decission. Now you will have to make some very essential decissions connected with a kind of snowboarding which you are going to practise, what properties your board should have, what lenght and appearance. While buying a new board you shouldn’t suggest yourself that the more expensive the board is, the better, because it isn’t always true. First you must decide what kind of snowboarding you are going to practise. If you are fascinated in riding on virgin ground you should choose freeride board; if you are interested in air tricks, riding on the rail, in a halfpipe the most suitable for you would be freestyle board; whereas if you love speed you should choose alpine type of the board. Now you already know something about various kinds of snowboards; except all these kinds of snowboards there are also some mixed kinds with a majority of one of these basic kinds (for example very popular are FR/FS and FS/FR). If you already know what kind of a board would be perfect for you, you can go to the snowboard shop or visit an exchange. If it is your first board, which will be used only for riding lessons you shouldn’t spend a lot of money because, all the same, you won’t be able to take advantage of all merits and technology of this board. In the beginning you shouldn’t look on the boards from the highest shelf. There is one very important thing- your potential board should have wooden core or mixed core (wood with a foam); so don’t be scared to ask in a snowboard shop because it is very important thing- boards with a foam core are much cheeper but they are designed mostly for children rather than for youth and adults. Another important thing is a decision about the length of your snowboard. Your snowboard should be not too long but also not too short. Too long snowboard, (despite it is more stable and faster) would be difficult in turning, especially for those who are just learning how to ride. Whereas if your board is too short, it would be easier in turnings but also less stable. Board length selection is also connected with a body weight of a snowboarder. It is generally known that perfect board should reach snowboarder nose or chin. Next you should decide which board (with what kind of slide) you should buy. There are three basic kinds of slides:

• Extruded slide- it is the slowest and the less resistant base, but it doesn’t require frequent care
• Sintered slide- it is faster and more resistant than extruded one, but it requires more frequent care
• Graphite slide- it is the fastest and the most resistant one, but it requires very frequent lubrication.

In the other case it would be much slower than extruded one ; that is why you should take it into consideration when you want to bay a snowboard with this kind of a base And our last decission is connected with a graphics of a board. Generally people decide about it in the beginning but nobody can do anything about it.
