Todd Richards- Tips Trick is a second instruction film I have seen (actually the first one because first I just saw this film and then "Jibbing with Jeremy Jones"). This film differs considerably from previous one, basic difference is that Todd teaches and tells something about tricks on jumps and in the half-pipe. Just after few minutes of introductory speach Todd starts teaching tricks on jumps: first it is 180 degrees turning, then 180 frontside, switch 180, 180 with grabs, 360, 360 frontside, 360 with grabs, switch 360, 540, 540 frontside, 540 with grabs. First Todd tells how to make particular trick, how to shape your body, your hands, where to look and what you shouldn't do. Everything about what Todd tells is very well presented in particular scenes; first you can see how to make the trick correctly (slowed down), of course before jumping action is paused and there is a discussion of the jump, body shaping and so on. Then Todd shows how to make turnings with grabs, later you can see what you shouldn't do. I liked it very much because I saw some mistakes made during the jumps, because of which turning ends with a fall. And it looks the same in case of every trick mentioned above.
Next part of the film is connected with tricks in a half-pipe. And here Todd teaches how to make 360 turnings and Alley Loop. Everything is carefully discussed and shown, and that is why we can easily realize what we should do and what to avoid in particular trick. This film may be very good training material for those who want to learn freestyle and for those who are already fascinated but they can't do it perfectly. Thanks to very good camera presentations, slowdowns and other effects we have an opportunity to see very precisely how to make particular trick. Disadvanage for Poles- all comments in English. But if you speak this language fluently you won't have any problems with understanding all advices and instructions.
In my opinion this film is very good because it fulfils its tasks. I can hardly wait when I test all these instructions while making tricks. It's very good that such films are produced, because generally there aren't many training materials of this kind and it may be a very valuable help for those, who are just starting their adventure with freestyle.
