The waiting is over, the Atomic Superpark on Dachstein Glacier has opened it’s gates for all freestyle enthusiasts on Saturday 10.05.2008. The setup of the easternmost glacierpark of the alps is better than ever before!

Thanks to the unbelieveable big amount of snow, available on Dachstein and the positive feedback of Freeskiers and Snowboarders from the near and far catchmentarea of the Atomic Superpark, Dachstein opened it’s gates 3 weeks earlier than usually this season. The Opening on the 10.05.2008 attracted numerous parkriders. A perfect „Blue Bird – Day“, like out of a picture book and a perfect shaped QPark made for a sensational opening with first class conditions. The setup of QParks – parkdesigner Bernd Mandlberger and his Dachstein – crew set new standards once more and put he pace high fort he other glacier snowparks. Some of the guests speak of the Atomic Superpark as the best snowpark they have ever seen.

The beginnerpark offers 6 different rails, from an easy Rainbowbox to an easy Kinkedrail. Furthermore there is a small kickerline with 3 hits. Freestylebeginners - no matter if on a snowboard or twintips - find the perfect conditions for their first jibs and jumps here.

Also the propark leaves no wishes unfullfilled! New rails and boxes, like a C-Box, Rainboxbox, a Wallride and 3 Treejibs make for even more varienty and an optimized combination of the jiblines. The kickers in the propark let the parkriders hearts beat louder. A brand new 3 hits medium kickerline ist the perfect completion of the big tables in the center of the park.

The bonded engagement of the Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen and the new cooperation with Atomic - Austrias biggest producer of Snowboards and Freeskis – brought lots of fresh wind into the project. The Atomic Superpark on Dachstein is also supportet by Horsefeathers Clothing, Adidas Eyewear and Blue Tomato.

6th Superstarsession, Atomic Superpark Dachstein, 13.05 – 16.05.2008 Traditionally the so called Superstarsession takes place on Dachstein in the week after the Opening in spring. The hottest upcoming riders and lots of international pros meet an armada of photographers and filmers for four days in the Atomic Superpark for this big PR – Session. The goal is to produce high standard actionshots in still and motion, for the distribution to the most important snowboard- and freeskimedias europewide. The Superstarsession therefore became an important institution for young and upcoming riders that want to show what they can to the industry and media and gain their first coverage in magazines, videos and the web.

Also the sixth Superstarsession was completely in the hands of the young guns. Special respect goes out to Ville Uotila from Finland, Max Weickl from Salzburg and Marc Swoboda - the exceptional talent from Tulln in Lower Austria. Furthermore the other Atomic riders like Flo Galler, Kathi Gappmayr and Seppi Scholler and the czech Horsfeathers crew showed what they can in an impressive way. In Freeskiing the „Pickings – Family“ with Tobi Tritscher, Domenic Tritscher and Josh Absenger proved that Newschool Skiing on the highest european level is not an exclusive pleasure for french and scandinavian riders anymore.
