At the starting event in the totally new concepted SNOW PARK Bispingen this weekend more than 120 riders came together for the Spring Weekend I to ride, to battle and to have a good time. Beside the massive event program with contest sessions, Live DJ performance, pro coaching and a tombola, the riders from northern Germany had the possibility to proof their riding level. And it can be said that there are places far away from the alps where snowboarders and freeskiers can follow their passion and improve their riding skills. It´s all about motivation and the right place to perform. Spoken for the SNOW DOME Bispingen, these two premises are definitely existent!

Day 1, 1st of May 09: Friday, Freestyle, Freerider Shop

The Freerider Shop had invited on Friday, the 1st of May, to realize an outstanding freestyle day and to break in the new and virgin SNOW PARK Bispingen with a big program. Already more than 40 riders were seen in the SNOW PARK Bispingen when the Freerider bus transfer from Hamburg arrived at the SNOW DOME aroud 2 p.m. with 20 motivated riders more to give the go-ahead for the riding program. DJ Lokomachine & Support (NEF – New Electronic Frontline) brought in the right sound and speaker Niklas got his voice warmed up. At the Chill area the riders had the possibility to test rocker-boards (with new negative flex technology) at the freerider, as well as the Burton demo tent. At the same time the photo- and filmsessions started in the SNOW PARK, as well as the coaching for the beginners with coaches from the Freerider shop and for the park riders with pro coaches like René Schnöller (Horsefeathers/Capita), Benni Deeg (Amplid), Patrick Ausweger (Atomic Freeski), Steve Pressler, Freerider Shop Rider Benni Urban (both Atomic) and SNOW DOME Local Torge Nagel (Ziener). And all these tips of the coaches brought benefit straight after in the goodies-for-trix session, where all riders got the possibility in two session á 30 minutes to win goodies like t-shirts, hoodies, dvds and bagpacks from the sponsors Freerider Shop, Burton, Brunotti and Pleasure Snowboard Magazine. Already as the goodies were finished the riders did not stop hiking the curved box to gain commendatory shouts of the crowd with tricks like 270 on boardslides 270 out.

So the riders went on hitting the park obstacles, smiling and pushing themselves together with the pros till the muscles in the feet were screaming for some chill out. Thus the riders gathered in the warm and cozy Almhütte to watch the best pics of the day on the screen and to avail the opportunity to win some more sponsor goodies at the tombola. For some riders the party ended around 10:30 p.m. to get the Freerider bus back to Hamburg, while others were still seen in and around the SNOW DOME to chill out and enjoy the warm outside temperatures or even, like is rumoured, to visit the famous nightlife district of Hamburg.

Day 2, 2nd of May 09: DJ Vito (Deluxe Records) with support rocks the SNOW PARK Bispingen

After the mellow aprés party on Friday the pretty perfect shaped SNOW PARK Bispingen – due to the massive efforts of the shapers - had not to wait to long till the first riders arrived to improve their skills and start another freestyle day in good mood. The riding program once started when the partners Whirlybird, HHonolulu Events and the Shop HaiQ from Hamburg, as well as Burton arrived and had changed their boardshorts into snowwear. The Freestyle workshop with coaching of the pro riders started at 2 o´clock, and right before the highlight of the day, the goodies-for-tricks session started, speaker Niklas got the honor to introduce DJ Vito & support (normally on the decks with Samy Deluxe from Deluxe Records) at the SNOW PARK Bispingen. And DJ Vito showed us not just his DJ skills with smooth hip hop tunes, but also ripped the snow on the snowboard! While the hip hop tunes pushed the riders level the goodies-for-tricks session started on three different obstacles (big kicker, gap box or down rail, curved box) till the last goodie of Brunotti, Whirlybird, HHonolulu, HaiQ, Pleasure and Burton found a new owner. The persons who did not trust in their riding skills took part at the tombola to trust in good old Fortuna! Thus once again around 50 happy and smiling riders spent a perfect freestyle day in the SNOW PARK Bispingen and made the opening weekend of the Spring Weekends a success. Right after the riding action all riders met once again in the Almhütte to watch the pics of the day, listening to the crew of DJ Vito and to give probs to the „Rider of the day“ Joelle Fricke, who impressed the judges the most at all obstacles and therefor got a backpack full of goodies from Burton.
