Billabong Bro Down Gets Ready to Take Over Snow Park NZ

The skies are clearing at Snow Park NZ in anticipation of the Billabong Bro Down this weekend. The event will kick off on Friday 10th September with Big Air Practise for all the heavy hitters and the Von Zipper Rail Shred later that afternoon. On Saturday 11th the main event will take place on the 70ft table of the Snow Park triple line.A host of International and local riders will converge for the final major event of the NZ winter season.

The Billabong Bro Down Big Air is also amongst the first on the TTR World Tour, holding a 3Star ranking leading into the 2010/11 international tour.Confirmed riders so far are Kiwi Olympian James Hamilton, Joram Makuru (NZ) and local ripper Shelley Gotlieb (NZ), alongside them will be international riders Robbie Walker (AUS), Clint Allan (AUS), Scotty James (AUS), Seppe Smits (BEL) and young gun Seamus O’Connor (USA) to name a few. In true ‘Bro Down’ style, this year there will also be a pre-event party held at Revolver bar in Queenstown on Wednesday 8th September featuring Australian band ‘Art vs. Science’ and some of NZ’s top skateboarders will be shredding the mini-ramp on site earlier in the evening.

The Von Zipper Rail Shred, set to be held on Friday September 10th on the Snow Park stair-set will be an open jam format where junior men and women (Under 18), senior women and senior men will throw down for serious prizes including flights, cash and product. The Billabong Bro Down Big Air on Saturday 11th will feature the top Open Men and Women putting it all on the line for $10,000 NZD cash and Sony product which will be followed by the legendary Bro Down After Party at The Woolshed featuring NZ group ‘Kids in Space’ and top local DJ’s. The Billabong Bro Down pres. by SONY is also supported by Monster, Von Zipper, Pacific Blue, NZ Pure  and Snow Park
