TWS hit the Unbound Park at Mammoth Mountain, California, with a diverse and expert crew of 18 testers and rode ’til we were spent. Jump lines, jib lines, 3,100 vertical feet of freeriding—we tackled it all under a bevy of conditions during a one-week window. Each run is an investigation into all the new tech, shapes, and flex. Every board is critiqued on 17 characteristics from nollie pop and flex, to stability, sidecut, and more. All said and done, the crew grinds about 450 boards down to 40 choice decks. Forum Spinster ($400)

Camber underfoot and rocker between the bindings and on the tips,  make this ride reactive, yet forgiving. The overall flex is soft for locking into presses but individual sections of the board vary-the camber section is softer and the rocker portions are stiffer. Wood shaved from the core at the tips reduces swing weight for effortless spins, while V-shaped carbon strands splaying out from the inserts will have you popping off the lip like you’re crazed on catnip.

The secret to this board’s success lies in three key technologies starting with the rocker which transitions out from the center to camber and back to rocker at the nose and tail. Second, along the camber zone underfoot, the edges bulge out to clutch hardpack in turns. And finally, carbon stringers send energy from the camber zone outward to the tips. It all equals a poppy, do-it-all board that delivers more than just lip service.
