TWS hit the Unbound Park at Mammoth Mountain, California, with a diverse and expert crew of 18 testers and rode ’til we were spent. Jump lines, jib lines, 3,100 vertical feet of freeriding—we tackled it all under a bevy of conditions during a one-week window. Each run is an investigation into all the new tech, shapes, and flex. Every board is critiqued on 17 characteristics from nollie pop and flex, to stability, sidecut, and more. All said and done, the crew grinds about 450 boards down to 40 choice decks. After long days of hard riding, countless laps, and nearly a thousand scorecards crunched, TWS bring you the 2012 Good Wood Men’s Park boards over 400$ results. Enjoy!

Gnu Park Pickle ($490)

Gnu pro Forest Bailey’s board for getting pickled in the park. (The 150, 153, and 156 sport his signature graphic.) The twin, asymmetrical shape is built to ergonomically sync with your body for turns. It has a heelside and toeside specific sidecut and a core that promotes better balance. With a loose Banana Technology camber and serrated Magne-traction edges it’s playful and grippy at the same time and nowhere near sour.

Tester Feedback: “Very fun park-specific board. Great turns and easy transitions. A great intermediate to advanced park board!”

Sizes: 147, 150, 153, 156, 156W, 159, 159W

Burton Mr. Nice Guy ($490)

Don’t let the clean cut fool you. This deck is built to board with explosive pop from dual density fiberglass and carbon stringers that radiate outward from the inserts. The milled and manipulated core has high ollie flex backed by a true twin shape and regular camber. The sturdy sintered base and dual-angled sidewalls stand up to hits so you can send it without thinking twice.

Tester Feedback:

“Fun! Great control. Rode rails, jumps, and the mountain just like I wanted. Just the right amount of pop for an all-around park board.”

Sizes: 152, 155, 157W, 158, 160

K2 Happy Hour ($460)

This new deck from K2 is a team favorite with its catchy graphics and unique shape. Its stable, flat profile is easy to ride, and the pre-curved carbon Ollie Bar strung between the feet and carbon fiber web in the tips adds plenty of extra snap and control. The wood and honeycomb core and tapered fiberglass build make it a real featherweight. Don’t be fooled by the pointy tips, this thing rips!

Tester Feedback: “Ten plus all the way! Looks funny and rides super well. I love grabbing nose and tail on this board!”

Sizes: 151, 154, 157, 159, 161

Lib Technologies Box Scratcher ($460)

This softer, wider, jibby deck is a staple design from pro rider Jesse Burtner. It features the original Banana Tech rocker profile that delivers mild pressure in the tips for an easy, whiplash-free ride. And thanks to the supple flex and curvy Magne-traction edges it really grips when you need it to. The beefed up core along the sidewalls dishes out snap and added strength for jibbing. Ride it like Jesse!

Tester Feedback: “I love this board! It turns like a motherf-r! Holds an edge better than any board I’ve ridden. Sorry for cursing, but it’s that good.”

Sizes: 147, 151, 154, 157
