The big 2-0, time flies when you’re having fun. Ride Snowboards have come a long way since initial introduction of just four board models in the winter of 1992 though our attitude, passion for innovation, and appreciation for the countless snowboarders who’s commitment to the brand has never faltered. They couldn’t have done it without all of you. High fives and wedgies all around for the pioneers that brought Ride to fruition; for the shops who dared to take a chance on us then and continue to support us today; for all of the dedicated Ride employees throughout the years that put their mark on the brand; and for all of the friends, family, and fellow Riders who have contributed along the way.

Ride hit the 20-year mark in 2012 with a collection that stays true to their roots with time-tested innovation, quality and style. Exuding a passion for snowboarding and profound camaraderie, together they raise the glass, toast good fortune and embark on the next 20-year journey.

Snow is lifeblood at Ride. They need it to exist. You need it to exist. At Ride have been making dedicated strides in the right direction and continue to implement processes to help reduce impact on the environment. In addition to internal practices such as utilizing electronically stored files, paper that is made up of 30% post consumer material and employee commuter incentives to bike, carpool and bus to work, they are applying green initiative throughout all of product categories.

Ride’s Membrain® top sheet technology cuts out more than half of the plastic used on traditional top sheets, and Hempbrain™ top sheet eliminates the traditional plastic top sheet altogether. Made from hemp, this top sheet is lighter and stronger, and is made from an easily renewable resource that requires little processing. Hemp is fast growing, requires no irrigation or pesticides, and helps clean up toxins from the ground. Also check out UL Base and UL Steel that use less material, but still maintain durability and quality.

All Ride boots feature 30% recycled EVA backing in the shell. A new approach to boot design, Ride’s exclusive Phy-Top™ construction utilizes fewer individual parts, less glue and creates less waste by bringing into play the specially crafted 100% phylon molded unibody. All of Ride’s binding baseplates and heelcups are made from roughly 50% recycled aluminum, and much like your empty beer cans, are 100% consumer recyclable.

The Ride team brings the brand to life through each of the athlete’s personal drive to excel, to push the limits and, above all else, to have fun doing it. They compete to set the bar for progression and performance. They explore new terrain and obstacles to challenge product, body and soul. And they test, design and perfect so that Ride can bring the best products to market so you can focus on what’s most important…enjoying the Ride!

And come back tomorrow to see what kind of goods they put together for this year!
