If we don’t have too much money or we just don’t want to spend it on a new equipment, which will be used just for learning we should look for some second-hand equipment. When you are going to buy this second-hand equipment you should pay attention to some very essential details which are very important for our further learning.
Snowboard While buying second-hand board you should pay attention to: 1. Its springy properties 2. You should check if it wasn’t sticked evidently. 3. Don’t buy a snowboard with visible slide damages, especially by edges. 4. Check if edges aren’t jagged. 5. Don’t buy a board if there is a big visible damage of its edge. 6. Check if insert threads aren’t teared off. 7. Check if there aren’t any other mechanical damages.
Bindings When you buy bindings you should watch them very carefully and pay attention to such elements like buckles. It would be better for you if there is a possibility to buckle your boot because then you will be able to state how the buckles are working. They shuold work easily on both directions, as well while buckling as while unfastening of your boot. Next thing which you should pay attention to is a state of straps which are fastening your boot- they should’t be used up and jagged because it may cause that your buckles will be sliding on them and you won’t be able to buckle your boot. Next you must watch heel, high back and all bindings base- check if they aren’t broken or sticked.
Boots Personally I don’t recommend buying second-hand boots, but it’s obvious that new boots aren’t very cheap. If we buy boots from somebody we must know that they are matched to his (or her) shape of a foot (unless this person used it just for two days) and they can be uncomfortable. Next you must check if they aren’t cut anywhere because then they may laek. When you buy second-hand boots you should take into consideration the same criterions as if you would buy new ones- they should fit your feet perfectly. When you already buy your boots you should wash inserts for the safety of your feet.
