I DEGREE (slight danger)- there is a stable snow cover, for some time there are no snowfalls, avalanche is possible only when there is a very big pressure. These are conditions in which tourism and ski-alpinism practising is relatively safe for particular area.
II DEGREE (moderate danger)- there was a snowfall- about 10-20 cm of new snow, snow cover is dense on avarage level, avalanche is possible when there is a big pressure /e.g. a group of skiers/ on the steep slopes. It is necessary to be very careful while covering steep slopes and passes.
III DEGREE (quite big danger)- there was a snowfall- about 20-40 cm of new snow, snow cover on steep slopes is rather weakly dense, an avalanche may be caused by skiers jump or by a hiker. Practising of hiking and ski-alpinism need very big experience /some places must be avoided/ everybody should be very careful on the slopes with a new snow and avoid very steep slopes.
IV DEGREE (big danger)- there was a snowfall- about 40-70 cm of new snow, on the steep slopes there is everywhere very weakly densed snow cover, there is a possibility of spontaneous avalanche falling. Staying at the dangerous ground must be absolutely limited, it is possible to move only on safe tracks while keeping all caution and safety measures.
V DEGREE (very big danger)- there was a snowfall- about 70-100 cm of new snow, snow cover is very weakly densed at all slopes, avalanches arise spontaneously. THERE IS AN ABSOLUTE BAN ON GOING TO THE MOUNTAINS!!
