Spring is coming..... but what does it mean for snowboarders? >> THE DEAD SEASON<< There is no snow and there won’t be for next few months... so what to do? Is there anything by what the snowboard can be replaced? At 100% this sport can’t be replaced, but there are some sport disciplines which may replace the snowboard a little. These disciplines are: skateboard, surfing, mountainboard, kitesurfing.

SKATEBOARD:
Skateboard is probably the most popular sport among them which may substitute for the snowboard a little. Many well known snowboarders who achieve successes in snowboard, achieve them also in skateboard. The conclusion is that snowboard abilities are also very useful in skatedoard (and quite the reverse). The advantage of this sport is that you don’t need any special conditions to practise this sport discipline. There are more and more skateparks where everybody can develope his/her abilities.

SURFING:
Surfing is a discipline which beginnings reach 1778. The cradle of this sport are Hawai Islands and California. Surfing must have something in common with snowboard because in summer many snowboarders substitute the snowboard wih the skateboard. It is undoubtely sport for those who love water and high waves. In Poland there arent very good conditions to practise this sport but it is for sure an alternative to substitute the snowboard.

MOUNTAINBOARD:
Mountainboard is relatively new sport discipline, which was born in the USA. Mountainboard is a combination of snowboard and skateboard. It came into being because people wanted to replace the snowboard by something else in the summer season. And it happened so- mountainboard very well subsitutes for the snowboard- it lets you to ride at hilly area. In the USA this discipline is very popular, in Poland it is less popular but year to year there is more and more people who want to practise this sport.

KITESURFING:
Kitesurfing is also very trendy sport discipline, which in the summer season has really many followers- also in Poland. Kitesurfing unites many sport disciplines, also snowboard. In this sport we are connected with a use of special lines with a kite, and under our feel there is fastened a special board. Kitesurfing is a discipline which gives many unforgettable impressions. Kitesurfing has also its winter version- snowkite. We use the same equipment but on our legs we have a snowboard or skis.
