snowboard helmetsHEAD
Contrary to appearances helmet is a very useful thing for snowboarder- both for beginner and for advanced freeestyler. Presently helmets become more and more popular because of the function which they fulfil. They are head protection during the falls, they protect us against possible concusion, or in the worst possible occurance against skull fracture. One is obvious- helmet can save our life ad healtf, especially of those who practise freestyle. I think nobody wants to hit with his/her head on the rail

BACKBONE
The most important and and the most sensitive to injures part of the body- backbone. It is worth saying that no backbone protectors can ensure safety to it. Such protector, which is presented on the photo beside (“turtle”) can’t protect the neck part of the backbone, which is the most exposed to damages. Such protector can be very useful for those, who try their forces on a big jumps, rails etc. Those, who are just learning how to ride, don’t need this protector very much.

CHEST

It’s a proposition for Pro but not only. A protector which looks similar to this presented on the photo is named “armour”. This armour contains inside protectors for backbone, elbows, shoulders and for chest. May it seems that when we wear such”armour” we are safe. When we wear this armour we can feel rather safe indeed: it protects the most important places up from the waist. The basic advantage of this protector is that it is very convenient in use, it is very light and what is the most important case- it ensures a safety during the extreme riding. There is probably just one disadvantage- the price!! Price starts from 300 zl and it rises.

THIGHS AND TAIL BONE
It is probably the most practical protector as well for beginners as for advanced snowboarders. Basic funtion of this pants is protection of the tail bone from contusions and also thighs and hips protecting. I learnt it on myself, that every beginner wants to have such pants after first day of learning, when we fall on the bottom every 5 metres. Such protector will be very helpfulfor those who learn the basic tricks, which very often ends with falls which are in most cases very painful. Advanced also may be very content of these pants because thanks to them it is easier for them to bring themselves to make new tricks especially on rails.

ELBOWS
Next proposition are protectors for elbows. It protects elbow joint from damages and blows. They are probably less useful than previous- but if you have a tendency to fall on elbows you can’t do without it. To protect your elbows you can use protectors from skateboard or from rollerblades- so if only you have , you can make use of it; but if you would have to buy them specially then it is worth thinking it over.

KNEES
Knee protectors is a proposition very advisable for snowboard beginners. From both my experience and observations I know, that everytime when you fall, you fall on your botom or on knees. Falls on knees may be very painful especially when we ride on hard or icy track. Such protectors protect a kneecap first of all and whole knee joint. But they don’t protect a knee joint against sprains, what unfortunatelly takes place very often. For beginners volleyball pads will be sufficient and they certainly can alleviate falls.

SHINS
Protectors for shins protect tibia bones against hits. As we know hit on tibia is very painful. Fortunately hits on tibia don’t take place very often during the normal riding or during the jumps. It looks different on rails where such situation really take place; they can be also very useful in boardercross where falls and collisions are very frequent. Then it may be a situation when we hit with our tibia on the rival snowboard and we will have very serious problems.
