Boarder ZoneThis game achieved very good opinions in the western press and its March premiere is "strongly" expected there. It comes from the assumption which was taken by programmers from Housemarque, that the game, firs of all, is to give the real atmosphere of white madness, and on the other hand to be a snowboard simulation. And that is why other limitations, which are known from other winter-sport games, and which allow to move only in strickly marked out "passages" known as routes, were ignorred. Boarder Zone has much more freedom! Routes will be there, of course. Each one from 9 available, was situated in one of three backgrounds. So: alpine routes will lead through the region full of steep slopes and heights, across caves and most beautiful ice crevices. Next kind, forest routes, are situated, just as the name says, in the forests which spread on the mountain slopes. Frozen steams will lead the rider form the start directly to the finish. "Village" routes are something for the sympathizers of resorts and tourist centres. Not very dense buildings, small hotels and one-family houses are crossed with ski routes, on which the player will be riding.

The advantege of this game is that we can leave the chosen route in order to find some short cut which allow to win the game faster and more confidently. Choose of the route will be connected with its difficulty- there were prepared downhill rides for lamers and also for "killers". Next very important thing are weather conditions like the sun shining straight on the eyes, dark night, snofalls or a fog. So as you can see, the framing of this game looks quite impressive. Snowboard differs very much from skis, because not always this guy who will ride the route faster is the winner. Well, actually the race mode, where 8 competitors take part, consists in it. But there is also Big Air, a tournament which promotes those, who just want to fool around on the board. Many ramps, platforms and jumps (including roofs) allow the player to make in the air such tricks which aren't even worse from these, which Santana makes at his guitar. And last mode, known as a Half Pipe will enforce the player to make the maximum number of equilibristic tricks in just few short minutes. Of course there will be also single contests, championships, season competitions and training- just like in every sport game.

Technical side of the game is not less impressive. Avaliable graphics resolutions will oscillate between 320x240 and 1600x1200, at 16 and 32- bits pallet of colours. The whole will be joined together by Surrender 3D engine, prepared by Hybrid. It was used in the production of Wizardry 8 and Starlancer, what may be evidence of its big thematic range (these games are RPG and none of them has already seen the daylight). It allows an unlimited location of a source of the light and a realization of quiet difficult transparency effect. Every single "boarder" is composed of about 2300 polygons, what in relation to 300 in Snow Wave Avalanche seems to be unbelievable. Personally I recommend this game those people who love white madness, even though controlling, especially in Half Pipe mode, needs quite big deftness. Graphically this game presents itself quite good what makes it one of the best in this subject matter.
